CAREER SUMMARY:
Professor Lily Stojanovska is currently the Director of Research Training in the College of Health and Biomedicine.
She has over 20 years’ experience in the area of prevention of chronic diseases and improving health and wellbeing through dietary,
exercise and complementary and alternative therapy interventions.
She has also been involved in immunoogical aspects in a number of diseases.
Her expertise is in conducting clinical studies as well as in qualitative research studies.
She has over 50 publications in refereed journals, 5 book chapters and over 100 conference abstracts.
These include papers in the Int J of Gynaecological Cancer, Br J Nutrition, Eur J Clin Nutritian etc.
Over the past 7 years Dr Stojanovska has developed a reputation as an author of widely assessable and popular books on health and nutrition,
having published 4 books with well-known publishers.
Professor Stojanovska has been successful in attracting competitive research funding including ARC Linkage grants,
ARC-Spirt postgraduate scholarships,
infrastructure recourses and in kind support form industry despite having spent many years of her
academic career in positions that have demanded time to academic leadership and administration.
She has formed extensive collaborative links with industry partners that have resulted in either obtaining research grants or in-kind support.

Postgraduate Research Student Supervision
Professor Stojanovska has graduated 5 PhD students as Principal supervisor, 3 as a co-supervisor, 9 Honours students and 15 third year research project students.
She is currently supervising 5 PhD students, 3 as principal supervisor and one research project student.
Competitive Research and Seed Grants
Since 1992 Professor Stojanovska has received 24 internal or external research grants totalling $1,679,500.
In the past 3 years (2012-2015) she has received grants totalling $337,464, most of which are still on-going.
In addition she has been part of a team submission or lead investigator on 7 successful VU research and infrastructure
funding grants receiving funding for research equipment or laboratory funding totalling $473,950.
Furthermore, over the last 15 years Professor Stojanovska has received 3 internal teaching and learning grants totalling $76,980.
